Dr. Edward Aldarelli, Superintendent of Schools and Classlink's NJ 2024 Innovator of the Year, has been a driving force within Edison Township Public Schools since October 2020, when he initially joined as Director of Human Resources. His leadership path continued as Acting Superintendent in December 2022, leading to his official appointment as Superintendent in July 2023.
With over 25 years of experience in public education, Dr. Aldarelli's career began in the classroom, teaching elementary and middle school students. He transitioned into administration as Vice Principal of Adelphia Elementary School in Howell Township, later advancing to Principal of West Freehold School in Freehold Township.
Dr. Aldarelli earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Peter's University, where his dissertation explored how transformative leadership practices can significantly enhance teacher performance. Nationally recognized, Dr. Aldarelli has presented on topics such as effective homework practices, transformational leadership, and school improvement. His expertise has guided numerous school districts in refining their leadership and pedagogical strategies to ensure teaching and learning are meaningful, engaging, and personalized. His tenure in Freehold Township earned his school and district national acclaim for their pioneering efforts in personalized and project-based learning.
